can i use it with saddlebags?

my poor wife can only stand about 30 minutes before she has got to rest her bum. this makes any long rides out of the question. if i don't find a solution, we will be buying another bike. probably an Intruder.
we rode about 100 miles Saturday and the whole time we talked about trading bikes. the savage is perfect for my 30 mile commutes back and forth to work, so i would really like to keep the it.
by the way, i just ordered the "black magic" saddlebags from Dennis Kirk. can't wait to see how they look.
